Overview

Family Anchor is a family information organizer that stores your data locally on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data Storage

All data stays on your device. Family Anchor stores your information in a local database on your phone. Your data is never sent to our servers because we don't operate any servers that receive your data.

Encryption

Family Anchor offers optional AES-256-GCM encryption for sensitive fields (such as Social Security numbers, passwords, and account numbers). When enabled, this encryption happens entirely on your device using a password that only you know. We cannot access, recover, or reset your encryption password.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to enable cloud sync, your encrypted database is uploaded to a cloud storage bucket that you provide and control (such as AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, or Backblaze B2). You supply your own storage credentials.

• Your database is encrypted on your device before it leaves your device
• The cloud storage provider only receives encrypted data — they cannot read your information
• We do not operate, manage, or have access to your cloud storage
• You can disable sync at any time, and your data remains on your device

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports sent to us
• No advertising identifiers
• No location data
• No contacts or phone data
• No cookies or tracking

Third-Party Services

Family Anchor does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

If you enable cloud sync, your encrypted data is transmitted to the cloud storage provider you configure. That provider's privacy policy governs their handling of your encrypted data. We recommend reviewing their policies.

Data Retention

Your data exists only on your device (and optionally in your own cloud storage bucket). Uninstalling the app removes all local data. If you configured cloud sync, data in your cloud storage bucket remains until you delete it.

Children's Privacy

Family Anchor does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for adults managing family information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app and on our website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
